Application procedure:
For a child born in the United Kingdom, Ireland, or Iceland, whose both parents or one parent is a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an application for the issuance of a certificate for return to the Republic of Azerbaijan may be submitted to the Embassy either in person or by post.
If applying in person, the applicant must book an appointment through the Electronic Appointment Portal and submit the required documents. In this case, the Certificate will be issued at the appointment time.
If applying by post, the applicant must send the required documents along with a self-addressed and prepaid return envelope (for sending back the issued Certificate) to the Embassy’s address. The Embassy bears no responsibility for the loss or damage of documents during postal delivery. Only applications with complete documentation will be accepted for processing.

Required documents:
1. Completed application form (Section 1 to be completed with the child’s details, Section 3 with the parent’s details);
2. Original and copy of the birth certificate (must be apostilled);
3. Two colour photographs (3x4 cm);
4. Copies of the passports or ID cards of both parents.
Notes:
- The state fee is not charged for issuing a Certificate for Return to the Republic of Azerbaijan, which substitutes for a passport, to citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan under the age of 18.
