Azerbaijan and UK discuss expanding cooperation across multiple economic sectors
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Lord John Alderdice, the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries, the Ministry told APA-Economics.
The meeting highlighted the expansion of mutual economic and trade relations. It was noted that there is great potential for strengthening partnership across various areas. The Trade Envoy was briefed on Azerbaijan’s effective cooperation with the Central Asian region, and the sides exchanged views on prospects for joint initiatives.
The parties discussed priority areas on the agenda of economic cooperation, including effective collaboration with the UK Export Finance (UKEF), the energy transition, human capital development, investment opportunities in the Alat Free Economic Zone and industrial zones, as well as the promotion of joint activities in business, trade, high technologies, and digital transformation.
