London, March 6, AZERTAC
A roundtable titled “Investment Opportunities in Azerbaijan and Central Asia” was held at the Azerbaijani Embassy in the United Kingdom with the support of the UK-Azerbaijan Business Council and consulting company Oliver Wyman.
Participants highlighted Azerbaijan’s strategic location, economic reforms, and its role as a key transit and trade corridor between Europe and Asia, noting that stable economic development continues to create favorable conditions for investment.
It was noted that international rating agencies Moody’s and Fitch have upgraded Azerbaijan’s sovereign credit rating to investment grade, reflecting the country’s economic diversification, financial stability, and governance reforms, as well as investor-friendly conditions in the Alat Free Economic Zone.
Pedro Vargas, CEO at Alpac Capital, said Azerbaijan’s open investment climate and opportunities created for foreign investors are increasing international interest in the country. He noted that Azerbaijan should be seen not only as a market of 10 million people but also as a platform for accessing regional markets.
The event also included presentations on Azerbaijan’s investment opportunities, the legal environment for foreign investors, and reports highlighting the country’s economic and market potential.
