Aplication procedure:
If a child is born abroad and a birth certificate has been issued by the relevant authorities of the country of birth, the child’s birth may be registered in the Republic of Azerbaijan through the Embassy, provided that one or both parents are citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In order to obtain a passport of a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the child through the Embassy, or to obtain documents confirming the child’s Azerbaijani citizenship in Azerbaijan, the child’s birth must be registered, a Personal Identification Number (FIN) must be assigned, and the child’s Azerbaijani citizenship must be determined.
To apply to the Embassy, the applicant must make an appointment through the electronic appointment portal and attend the Embassy in person with the required documents.
Following submission of the required documents, the child’s birth will be registered, a Personal Identification Number (FIN) will be assigned, and a certificate confirming the child’s Azerbaijani citizenship will be issued within 1–2 months.
